We all know the earliest use of email often included the gratuitous distribution of jokes, so I have felt compelled to spread the humor I received to my humor loving friends. I have slowly over the years found that a lot of the same jokes make their rounds and new ones get spread very quickly.
I finally concluded that sending every joke I received out made no sense so I finally filtered and often "cleaned up"* the jokes before sending them back out into the Internet world. Then I started grouping them so I could send them out every so often instead of as they come in.
This finally evolved to the weekly series I have dubbed the "Friday Funnies" as I figured we all should kick off our favorite workday with a good laugh. Many of my friends send me dozens of jokes weekly and the best of these make it into the Friday Funnies.
Then at the end of 2001 I began publishing these on the Friday Funnies web site. In January of 2003 I launched the "Offical" Friday Funnies Site - YourFridayFunnies.Com. (Some dufus already had a FridayFunnies.com website**)
